Sandwich Bot, Bee-Bot and Cubetto

Our home schooled students have been making great progress in their computing lessons this term!

Students have been introduced to computational thinking, by programming ‘Sandwich Bot’ through the use of algorithms (which are a set of instruction to get something done). Students have also been introduced to the idea of debugging, by identifying problems in their butter sandwich algorithm.

Sketching & Wire Sculptures in Art!

Sketching – Drawing Fruit and Vegetables

This term children have been focusing on learning to draw fruit and vegetables using one of the mastery of art and design techniques known as sketching. Artists use tone to create observational drawings. An observational drawing could be a portrait, architecture (buildings) or still life (bowl of fruit).

Tuition Club Resumes Tomorrow!

The Tuition Club resumes tomorrow Monday 30th October at 10am, for the second half of the Autumn term. We look forward to our home schooled students returning in shaa Allaah.

Inspirational Growth Mindset Activity Afternoon!

An inspiring afternoon for our home schooled students!

Alhamdulillaah on Thursday we came to the end of our first half term of the new academic year and we ended it in style with a fun growth mindset activity afternoon.

At the Tuition Club it is vitally important that we encourage both children and tutors to develop a Growth Mindset. The idea by Professor Carol Dweck highlights how the most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work – brains and talent are just the starting point.

Growth Mindset Activity Afternoon!

A fun end of half term activity for our home schooled students!

A reminder to our home schooled students and parents that the last day of this half term will be this Thursday 19th October 2017 in shaa Allaah. The Tuition Club will then resume on Monday 30th October 2017 at 10am.

Pizza Express Workshop!

Wonderful Pizza making session!

On Tuesday 3rd October, some of our home schooled pupils and their tutors visited The Manchester Corn Exchange Pizza Express restaurant to learn about food and enjoy a unique cooking experience.

The children got to learn about cooking and good food while having lots of fun along the way. The morning consisted of meeting the restaurant manager and staff as well as the pizzaiolo (pizza chef) who showed the pupils how to make the famous, Italian classic: the Margherita.

Workshop at Hey Little Cupcake!

Wonderful cupcake making session!

On Thursday 26th September some of our home schooled students enjoyed an excellent cake decorating workshop at Hey Little Cupcake. The owner of the beautiful cupcakery taught our students 4 different unique designs. They learnt various new skills, which students are excited to practice and use at home when baking in shaa Allaah!

Workshop at Lush!

A fun time product making!

On Thursday 19th September some of our home schooled students took part in a fantastic workshop at Lush. They received a great insight into the history of the company and the various job roles involved in the running of the business.

Students also had great fun exploring the various products and even got to make their own bath bomb. They not only got to take their bath bombs home, but also got to select another item from the store as a gift.

Educational Tour at Manchester Airport!

A fantastic tour, full of interesting facts and information!

On Tuesday 12th September some of our home schooled students had a fantastic educational tour at Manchester Airport Runway Visitor Park alhamdulillah. Students and tutors were greeted by a tour guide, who informed them of many interesting facts as they explored a range of aeroplanes.
