Fun packed Creative Writing Workshop held for our home-schooled students!

Our home-schooled students took part in various workshops this week. Workshops such as Internet/ E-Safety, Road Safety and Creative Writing workshops were introduced.

Yesterday, Tuition Club had the privilege of having a local writer visit the students to conduct a series of workshops for the students throughout the day.

Wood Workshop – 08/05/2018

Today our home-schooled students participated and made their own sweet dispensers.

Process: Pieces of wood had to be cut down to size and shape, they were then sanded down by the students, who then had to utilise the drill press, slot the parts together and use a glue gun.

All safety protocols were explained to the students beforehand, protective eye wear and ear muffs were likewise provided.

Reflective & Rotational Symmetry

Students using tracing paper and mirrors for reflective symmetry!

In continuation from last term, some of our key stage 2 home schooled students have been completing some work after introducing reflective symmetry.

Students took part in a practical activities to identify symmetrical shapes. They were asked to colour in the correct space to complete a symmetrical pattern. The children were then taught how to use tracing paper for rotational symmetry and mirrors for reflective symmetry.

A Wonderful Surprise Package Arrived Today For Our Club Students

A wonderful surprise today!

We received a package today…and it contained these lovely letters from our friends at Troid Kids Club in Canada.

We cannot wait to show our home-schooled children at the club on Monday Inn Shaa Allaah.

2-Digit Number Addition in Arabic

Building upon work from last term our Key Stage 2&3 pupils have been working on 2-digit number addition in Arabic.

Worksheets and sums were given to reinforce the teaching as well as to assess how the children were doing in this area.

My Family & I in Arabic

Students have been learning new verbs, nouns and adjectives that enable them to describe themselves and members of their family!

Pictured below are just two excellent examples of the work produced by our home-schooled students in which they describe their appearance and personality, with one student writing about herself ‘I have brown hair and I wear a purple dress and pink shoes. I don’t wear glasses or a hat.’

Tuition Club Resumes Tomorrow | Summer Term 2018

The Tuition Club resumes tomorrow Monday 23rd April at 10am, for the first half of the Summer term. We hope our home schooled students had an enjoyable Spring break and we look forward to them returning for another exciting term in shaa Allaah!

??Immersive Arabic??

Our Young learners have been learning about many different topics in Arabic.

Tutors have been using props to aid the children’s learning in building language skills and early learning concepts.

Through kinaesthetic means: touching, feeling and experiencing the material at hand has helped students engage in the learning activity.
