Club Tuesday – Day 1

A great time was had by all home-schooled children that attended our various clubs on Tuesday Alhamdulillaah. The private sessions have been set up in order to further assist home schooling parents and their children fill in the gaps, as well as giving them the skills to aid them in their studies.

The clubs include Phonics & Reading Club, Study Skills Workshop and Kids Arabic Club. Read below to find out what our attendees learnt this week!

Developing watercolour painting techniques!

Our home-schooled children have been developing a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour and pattern, using watercolours to create a background.

Firstly, the children used a small piece of paper to try out the watercolours. Then they used the skills to colour and create a picture of a hot air balloon.

Using Nets to Create 3D Shapes!

Our home-schooled students have been using nets to create 3D Shapes.

3D shapes such as cubes, cuboids and pyramids were made.

The children were taught how to recognise, describe and build simple 3D shapes, including making nets.

They were shown a cube and cuboid and then given some squared paper on which to make a net which helped them make an identical shape.

Students learn about different types of germs & bacteria!

In Science, our home-schooled children have been learning about different types of germs & bacteria.

Germs are tiny organisms. They are so small that they are not visible to the naked eye and can only be seen using a microscope.

Many germs are useful and keep our bodies healthy. Some types of germs are even used to make food like bread and cheese, or as medicine like antibiotics.

Occasionally, germs can make us feel poorly. Only certain types of germs can have this effect.

There are 4 main types of germ: Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi & Protozoa.

KIDS ARABIC CLUB RESUMES TOMORROW AT THE NEW TIME OF 11.15AM!

Few places remaining‼️ Enrol your child on our private immersive Arabic sessions.

Your child will learn through play and activities, using a range of visual aids. The immersion language club, consists of our tutors only conversing in Arabic within the classroom. Tutoring in this way is highly effective, and is known to be one of the best methods used to learn a foreign language.

Learning Singular, dual and plural of nouns in Arabic!

Children have been learning Singular, dual and plural of nouns during their Arabic lessons.

Nouns in Literary Arabic have three grammatical cases (nominative, accusative, and genitive [also used when the noun is governed by a preposition); three numbers (singular, dual and plural); two genders (masculine and feminine); and three “states” (indefinite, definite, and construct).

Arabic nouns can either be singular( ﺍﻟﹿﻤﹹﻔﺮﹶﺩ), dual( ﺍﻟﻤﹹﺜﻨﳲﻲ), or plural( ﺍﹶﻟﺠﹷﻤﹿﻊﹸ).

These sessions are aimed at supporting your child with their phonics and reading development, through the use of visual aids, activities and story time. This extra support will enable your child to progress further in their studies, as well as give them the foundational support that they need to excel in their studies.

Coloured Carnations Science Experiment!

Our home-schooled children have been busy participating in a science experiment which involved making coloured carnations.

They made colourful carnations from fresh, white carnations using food colouring and water.

The children experimented with red and green food colouring creating different-coloured flowers by using the plant’s ability to absorb water through its stem.

Students Create Vibrant Abstract Art Canvases focusing on Modern Art!

Children have been looking at Abstract Art focusing on Modern Art at Tuition Club.

The children have looked at various artists and focused on Sally Trace’s work.

Sally Trace’s work focuses on fine art prints on canvas made from high resolution images of her original paintings.

They explored Sally Trace’s work using different Art mediums such as crayons, water colours and acrylics.

Enrol your child on our brand new private Study Skills Workshop‼️

The Tuition Club is pleased to introduce a new Study Skills Workshop every Tuesday 11.30 – 1pm. The private sessions will aim to help home schooled children in organising their studies, it will teach them how to manage their learning by studying effectively; which will include creating schedules, implementing ways to improve concentration, memory skills and organisation.
