Brilliant BBQ!

Alhamdulillaah Thursday was the end of another half term, and it ended in style with a Tuition Club BBQ! Students, teachers, parents, family and friends enjoyed an afternoon of food, ice cream and activities. Students had great fun on a bouncy castle, and many attendees had beautiful henna designs applied to their hands. We are excited to announce that The Tuition Club will be hosting a BBQ on Thursday 26th May in shaa Allaah. All students, teachers, parents, family and friends are invited to join us for an afternoon of food and fun activities. The BBQ will commence at 2.30pm and finish at 4pm in shaa Allaah. Butterfly Garden & Mini Flower Garden!

It has been an exciting few weeks here at the Tuition Club. Our Science students have been taking part in a butterfly garden activity, as well as planting flower boxes. The Butterfly Garden school kit enables students to raise their own painted lady butterfly, and witness the wonders of the butterfly life cycle. End of Spring term ceremony!

Alhamdulillaah yesterday we came to the end of the spring term at the Tuition Club and to celebrate the achievements of our students, we held an end of term ceremony. During the ceremony our students read out some excellent poetry and riddles, which they worked hard to prepare in their Arabic and English lessons. Mountain Reward Charts!

This term has seen the introduction of our new mountain reward charts alhamdulillaah. The reward system at the Tuition Club is based on using a positive rewards based approach, wherein the removal of a reward is the disciplining element. The design of the chart includes an image of a mountain, in which character name cards are placed next to the relevant percentage. Our Year 3 and 4 science students have been having great fun making lapbooks based on plant and animal habitats. English progress!

Students at the Tuition Club have been making excellent progress in English this term. Key stage 2 and 3 have been learning all about antonyms, adverbs, homophones, suffixes, clauses and active and passive sentences. Whilst, Key Stage 3 have been learning about informative texts such as newspapers, journals, diaries, blogs and radio. They have also been discussing the features of a newspaper, which included learning about the historical, geographical and economical facts of Costa Rica. Read more [...]
