Session 1 – Garden Centre Trip @ Garden Club

The home-schooled students that attended Garden Club last week had a great time exploring the variety of plants, seeds and bulbs that B&Q had on offer. They made some great purchases for our learning garden including seed potatoes, onions sets, tomato, carrot, beetroot, cucumber and strawberry seeds. They also bought a beautiful apple tree and one of our home-schooled parents kindly donated  a pear and plum tree. Brand New Garden Club! – Starts this Tuesday 23rd April @ 10AM

Educational Afternoon at Recycle for Greater Manchester Waste Centre!

Last week our home schooled children had a wonderful trip to the Recycle for Greater Manchester Education Centre, as part of our science programme for this term. The programme of learning activities began with the children exploring the interactive exhibition area and was then followed by an introduction by the Education Officer, which focused on learning about the various coloured bins and the waste that goes in them. Study Skills Workshop – Helping a Child to Study

Last week in our study skills workshop we covered tips on helping a child to study. To successfully assist a student, the helper should adopt a positive attitude, encourage learning together, provide feedback and use a range of teaching methods such as: learning apps, e-learning and online libraries. Our children made posters and explored a range of learning apps that can assist them in their learning. A great time was had by all home-schooled children that attended our various clubs on Tuesday Alhamdulillaah. The private sessions have been set up in order to further assist home schooling parents and their children fill in the gaps, as well as giving them the skills to aid them in their studies.
