⏳Tuition Club Museum Trip

Students visit the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester!

Last week, Key Stage 3 & 4 students visited the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.

The museum is devoted to the development of science, technology, and industry with emphasis on the city’s achievements in these fields. The students initially enjoyed wandering around looking at the exhibitions and got to experience a range of interactive shows, workshops, and other learning activities.

The Textile gallery was one of many shows that the children got to see. This included a demonstration, which allowed the children to watch the original 19th-century machinery spin yarn into cloth. These are the machines that made Manchester’s cotton famous worldwide. The students also visited the Experiment Gallery which presented 25 hands-on exhibits showing science in action.

We later visited the “Air & Space Hall, located across the road from the main building which showcased a range of cars, bikes, and aeroplanes that got industrial Manchester moving.

The students then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the many galleries and exhibits.
